Our Mission
The Eric C. Sherman Memorial Golf Tournament honors the life and legacy of Eric Christopher Sherman — a devoted husband, father, musician, and youth leader whose kindness touched countless lives in Toledo.
In January 2014, at just 29 years old, Eric passed away suddenly due to a misdiagnosed medical condition. He was known for his fun-loving spirit, strong work ethic, and deep commitment to serving others. As Youth Director at his church and an exceptional percussionist, he inspired many young people through both his faith and his music.
This annual golf tournament brings family, friends, and community members together to celebrate Eric’s love for music and service. Proceeds support the Eric C. Sherman Scholarship Fund at the University of Toledo’s College of Music, where qualified music majors are selected each year by the College of Music staff.
Through this fund, Eric’s passion for music continues to open doors for aspiring musicians. Every round played, sponsorship, and donation helps carry forward his legacy of kindness and generosity.
